warm thoughts

“Last week the propane industry hit Capitol Hill. We met with over 220 Members of Congress and their staff, swore in a new slate of NPGA officers, and had a lot of fun along the way!”

Stephen Kaminski, President and CEO, National Propane Gas Association

“Grateful for the chance to attend my second Propane Days and happy to take a couple days off after to spend time with family who live out by D.C.

What a week it was last week! The MINNESOTA PROPANE ASSOCIATION brought a large delegation once again and secured meetings with all 8 Districts and both Senators to talk all things propane.

We also had the opportunity to host our (very well-attended) PropanePAC reception at President Lincoln’s Summer Cottage. I got to watch Trent Hampton be elected to Treasurer of the NPGA Board of Directors. And, I was able to pass the PropanePAC Chair torch over to Andrew J. Vogl who will do an amazing job advocating for the industry!

It was a packed week, but a week full of new connections, great conversations and progress forward in the industry. It was amazing to see all the new (and young!) folks who joined us in Washington D.C. this year and I am so grateful to be a part of this little big industry we work in.

Thank you Trent Hampton and Lakes Gas for the constant support and understanding of why being involved at this level is so important.”

Stephanie Hennen
Manager of Marketing, Lakes Gas

“Another long day, but a good one. Usually, I attend the NPGA events by myself, but this time I made the decision to bring Kirsten McAlpin, M.S. IMC and Aerial Densmore with me and I am thankful. Kirsten is blossoming as she works with the Women in Propane. Both have also had the chance to meet many of the leaders in our industry and make many other connections. Very proud of both of these young ladies. They have represented Conger LP Gas exceptionally well.”

Dan Richardson
President and CEO, Conger LP Gas

“And that is a wrap for another impactful NPGA Propane Days event. In addition to spending a day talking with legislators and their staff about our industry and its role in the economy, the climate conversation and people’s lives, it was also amazing to see Tom Van Buren sworn in as the new Chairman, spend time with new colleagues and catch up with former ones.

Visiting Washington, D.C. is always emotional for me as I loved growing up right outside our nation’s capitol and miss living here. When I walked into the restaurant on a beautiful warm night and saw this view, it took my breath away. I love that this city still does this to me. I am grateful I have the opportunity to work on matters to protect people’s right to choose what energy source they think works best for their family (among other legislative priorities). I am thankful that we live in a country where we can discuss our issues with our lawmakers, even if they don’t always agree with our position.

I am inspired to take what I have learned over the past few days and grow into my new role with Ferrellgas. Now is such a critical time for our industry to get into the arena and tell our story.

Thanks to NPGA and its hard working staff for a great event!”

Michelle Bimson Maggi
Vice President Corporate Affairs, Ferrellgas

“Over twenty PGANE members gathered for dinner Monday night in DC to plan our sixteen visits to the House and Senate members who would meet with us this Tuesday. Members discussed federal funding for renewable propane production facilities and research, for funding additional propane usage at DOD sites, the Alternative Fuel Tax Credit extension, and Freedom of Energy Choice Bills. Thank you to our NPGA Directors and members that attended this important event! Special thank you to Judy Taranovich for inviting Gerald Malloy who is running against Bernie Sanders for Senate, to attend and meet the propane delegation.”

Propane Gas Association of New England

“AMAZING past few days spent in Washington, DC at the annual National Propane Gas Association Propane Days.

I thank you and am humbled by my appointment to the NPGA Board as Producer and Wholesale Section Director. Brett Alison Gold thank you for your guidance through the process. Christina Armentano thank you for your nomination. You’re an amazing leader; not only to the Paraco family, but to our industry! Tom Van Buren congrats on your well deserved announcement as NPGA Chair. Please let me or our team know how we can support! Jackie Mason thank for a great day and all your hard work!

Most importantly, my KNIGHT-CHEMSTAR INC RenStar LLC family and for allowing me/us the tools to succeed … “I wish I found you all long ago”.”

Guiseppe “Joe” Natale
Director at ChemStar, Inc. and Rem Star, LLC

“17,627 steps in one day & a big delegation from Texas. Successful meetings on the Hill. Happy to be part of Propane Days hosted by the National Propane Gas Association educating Congressional members on the Hill.”

Jackie Mason
Propane Council of Texas

“I’m proud Ferrellgas is represented in our nation’s capital today joined by hundreds of other U.S. propane industry representatives. We’re here for the National Propane Gas Association’s annual Propane Days lobbying event. We’ve been welcomed warmly by members of Congress and their staffs. Our message that propane is a safe, portable, clean-burning fuel for millions of Americans has been well received. The future of propane is bright!”

Tamria Zertuche
President and CEO, Ferrellgas

“We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to advocate for the environmental and economic benefits of LP gas during the National Propane Gas Association’s annual Propane Days in Washington, D.C. this week. Explaining propane and renewable propane’s unique role in “The Path to Zero (carbon emissions)” while maintaining energy security to members of congress is vital to our industry’s success.

Thank you to the staffs at NPGA and Kindsvatter Dalling & Associates, Inc. for organizing an extremely productive day with our legislators.”

Last week, several members and I traveled to Washington, DC for the National Propane Gas Association’s annual Propane Days to meet with lawmakers and advocate on behalf of the propane industry.

The Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association’s delegation included Andy Stewart (Aero Energy); John Eddinger and Dylan Eddinger (Eddinger Propane); Ross Grimm and Becky Culp (Ross Welding Supplies); Lucy Shaffer (Shaffer’s Bottled Gas); Mark Zimora (Tankfarm); and Jim Wiltshire (F.W. Webb).

In one day, we met with 10 (out of 17) Congressional Districts and both Senators. Thank you to the Representatives and staff members for taking the time to meet with us.

I am proud to be a part of this important event and am so very grateful to have the privilege of working for the propane industry in Pennsylvania.

Shelby Bell
Executive Directory at Pennsylvania Propane Gas Assn.
