REMEMBERING JOHN W. BROOKS III OF BROOKS GAS

Written on: October 5, 2022

John Brooks with wife Vickie last week at an NPGA Board Meeting

John W. Brooks III of Brooks Gas in Marshfield, MO passed away this morning at his home. The Missouri Propane Gas Association shared that among his many passions, Johnny was a dedicated industry supporter, serving in every possible capacity on the MPGA and Missouri Propane Education & Research Council boards. Brooks had just been reconfirmed as Missouri’s State Director to the NPGA Board last week.

In a post on Facebook this morning, Brooks’ son Will stated:

As many of you may have heard, my father passed away this morning. Too soon to have any funeral arrangements as of yet. I will post later when we do. Dad had many friends and I am thankful for every one that has reached out to me and my family. I knew this day would come, but it’s never easy when it does. I want everyone to know that it was quick and I know he is at peace after many years of pain. I imagine he’s coming up the fence row towards grandbill, his shotgun over shoulder, ready to hunt the best fields in heaven. Yesterday, he finally took off and went float fishing with Tom Spriggs on the Niangua River near Bennett Springs. In his notebook I found where he wrote down he got home at “10:11 tired and happy.”
