REMEMBERING JOHN MURRAY

John E. Murray of Moorestown, N.J. passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. John was born in Stockbridge, MA and was the son of the late Raymond and Marjorie Murray. John was in the first class that went through four years at the new Monument Mountain Regional High School graduating in 1978. He played football for four years including the championship in his senior year. He also wrestled for the Spartans. He made many friends in high school that he kept in contact with throughout his life.

John was a partner in the family business of Ray Murray, Inc., a distributor of gas equipment and heating products. John became the manager of the expansion office and warehouse in Bensalem, PA in 1982 and celebrated 42 years with Ray Murray Inc in 2024. He was also active with the propane gas associations of both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. John loved his work and made so many contributions to the company over the years. He deeply cared for the people he worked with at RMI and was an ardent advocate for the employees who will miss him dearly.

John had a positive impact on so many friends and family. He could make everyone smile with his jokes and he always had plenty of wonderful stories to share. John was known for lighting up the room, his big spirit and heart and his love of following the music. He became an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and loved to follow NASCAR racing. John was a member of the vestry at Trinity Episcopal Church in Moorestown where he worked on many events and with many charitable organizations including the Mason.

John is survived by his wife Janet, his daughter Emily, his brothers Ray (Daru) and Jim (Liz) and sister Margaret Barrasso (Mark).

A celebration of life is being planned for later this winter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
