Recently, Reagan Bonnette, President of Stringer LP-Gas in Anderson, SC shared thoughts on LinkedIn on the recent NPGA Fall Board Meeting where she participated as a new member of the Governmental Affairs Committee.
A new adventure filled me with a mix of nerves and excitement as I joined the National Propane Gas Association Conference as a new member of the Governmental Affairs Committee. There was a lot to take in and learn, but my initial nerves quickly transformed into excitement, and I felt eager to absorb everything I could. If you want to truly understand what NPGA does for us, I highly recommend attending the conference. It is fascinating, daunting, and impressive all at once. Hats off to them for continuing to fight the good fight for clean-burning energy. I attended as many committee meetings as possible, but I still find it challenging to grasp all the components that make up our industry.
A couple of highlights from the experience include the Young Professionals Council. Although I am one year too old to officially be a member, I aim to support this group as much as possible. It’s hard not to be captivated by Stephanie Hennen ‘s energy as she leads this group, which I believe is a tremendous asset. The support in the meeting from attendees of all ages was evident, and the energy was fantastic.
I was also inspired by a new board member, whom I have admired for some time. He told me that there is no longer room for the status quo and emphasized the need to spotlight our product and continue pushing for our industry. Hearing that from him was motivating.
I am always appreciative of Stephen Kaminski ‘s time. I know how busy he is and always enjoy our conversations. His impressive leadership was frequently discussed during my time in Vermont. This candid picture says a lot.
And of course, any time I get with my favorite mentor, friend, therapist Dan Richardson and his beautiful wife, Vivian, is the best. They feel like family, which was so important this trip for me.
See you next time NPGA!
