From the National Propane Gas Association Bobtail
The Propane Gas Association of New England (PGANE) and Maine Energy Marketers Association recently hosted Maine Senator Susan Collins at the MTEC Training Facility. The visit highlighted the vital role that propane plays in communities across Maine, as well as the industry’s focus on safety, training, and workforce development.
Leslie Anderson, President and CEO of PGANE, and members of the association educated Senator Collins on how propane supports households, businesses, and the importance of workforce development in an aging state like Maine. Jeff Stanton, Vice President for Operations at Superior Plus Propane, also had the opportunity to visit with Senator Collins to discuss the industry’s local impact.
The MTEC Training Facility was partially funded by PGANE’s New England Foundation to improve propane education. According to C-SPAN, Senator Collins spoke to students and faculty about their trade and expressed the importance of the skills they are learning.
Visits like this and at marketer locations are a great way to connect with lawmakers and share the value propane brings to our communities. If your company would like to host a facility tour, NPGA is here to help! Reach out to Eric Sears, Senior Manager of State Association Relations, at esears@npga.org to get started.
