On July 28, the Department of Energy published a Proposed Rule designed to amend the efficiency standards and requirements for consumer water heaters. NPGA has already begun engaging industry coalition groups and outside experts in order to have a thorough response to the Proposed Rule, which is available here. NPGA will be developing a comprehensive letter to DOJ, as well as a comment to DOE, identifying issues of concern. Comments are due to DOE on September 26, and comments on the anti-competitive effects of the Proposed Rule are due to DOJ on August 28. A public information session will be available and open to the public on September 13.
