A group of retail propane marketers who have met once each year since 2017 will gather again for a benchmarking meeting August 22-23 in Mobile, AL. There are 12 planning to attend this year and room for two more. Members typically discuss issues ranging from payment plans, fees, supply planning, marketing strategy, employee matters, company growth, software programs, trucks, assets, collections, building company value, banking relationship and much more. The meeting will take place all day Thursday, August 22 and a field trip to nearby Waring Oil will be the group activity until 11 am on Friday, August 23. An optional dinner will be provided by Tiger Payment Solutions for those arriving by 6:30 pm Wednesday, August 21.
Participants represent states including Florida, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Alabama, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas and Georgia. Participants must not be a competitor of another participant. In addition to plenty of discussion facilitated by Pat Thornton, Publisher of Trending in Propane, presentations and discussions will be led by Chris Caywood, President of Caywood Propane Gas Inc. with offices in Albion, Coldwater, and Hudson, Michigan and Jeff Thompson and Allan Degenhardt of Propane Resources who will give a supply 2024-25 overview.
A fee of $500 covers the event and lunch and dinner on Thursday. Lodging and the meeting will be at the Courtyard by Marriott in Mobile. Room rates are $129/night plus tax and a complimentary breakfast is available each morning for those staying at the hotel. A room block expires at the end of this week.
