Propane Days was back as an in-person event for the first time since 2019 last week in Washington DC. Webinars, panel discussions and questions and answer sessions coordinated by NPGA’s Michael Baker, Andrew Healey and Katherine Singleton prepared members for two days of visits with legislators and their staff members on Capitol Hill. NPGA encouraged members to focus on six key issues and asks:
1. Protection of consumer access to propane
2. Inclusion of propane in federal appropriations
3. Support propane in the next Farm Bill
4. Consideration of how propane is defined in the Department of Homeland Security’s Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards
5. Inclusion of propane-specific provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act
6. Continuation of propane application eligibility during Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization
