So far, the program has processed 71 doubled rebates, amounting to $44,600, specifically for those impacted by the hurricane.
RALEIGH, NC –In response to the challenges faced by residents affected by Hurricane Helene, the Southeast Propane Alliance (SEPA) and the North Carolina Propane Education and Research Foundation (NCPERF) launched a doubled rebate program. This initiative has resulted in a substantial increase in rebate submissions over the past two months. So far, the program has processed 71 doubled rebates, amounting to $44,600, specifically for those impacted by the hurricane.
In addition to the doubled rebates, a substantial total of $107,350 in propane appliance rebates have been processed. This brings the overall rebates issued in the two months to $151,950. The initiative successfully encouraged purchasing and installing over 400 new propane appliances throughout North Carolina in December and January, demonstrating a strong commitment to helping residents recover and rebuild.
“We are proud to support our community during this challenging time by providing financial assistance for essential 
appliances,” said Andy Daughtrey, Operations Manager for Parker Gas Company Inc. and NCPERF Chair. “This rebate program not only assists residents in their recovery efforts but also promotes using clean and efficient propane energy.”
Phil Farris, Director at 3eightEnergy and the North Carolina Advisory Board Chair, stated, “Alongside the Hurricane Helene double rebates, the Hurricane Helene North Carolina Winter Propane Relief Fund has significantly aided in rebuilding our communities in North Carolina over the past two months.”
The Hurricane Helene North Carolina Winter Propane Relief Fund, supported by the North Carolina Advisory Board, the North Carolina Propane Education and Research Foundation (NCPERF), and the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC), provides financial aid to propane retailers who contribute propane and labor to citizens in need. The fund is made up of existing emergency relief funds combined with new contributions, all matched dollar for dollar by PERC. Contributions are directed to NCPERF. As a 501(c)(3) organization, donations are tax-deductible, with no administrative or management costs or fees. To date, $160,000 has been raised, with over $21,533 reimbursed to participating retailers.
