The U.S. Department of Energy reports that as of April 2022, there was a total of 53,919 EV charging stations and 132,888 EVSE ports in the U.S. and Canada.
Experts have a number of concerns about charging infrastructure. Recently Slashgear.com discussed key challenges including:
EV chargers not evenly spread throughout the U.S.
Government funding will help U.S. but not be enough.
Many EV charging stations still use dirty energy.
Too many drivers still worried about charging options.
Restricted access to chargers and privacy concerns.
